Our teams are working around the clock to open the brand-new Union Station!
When the station opens on Monday, 22 May, we will have:
- excavated 200,000 cubic metres of soil, which is equivalent to about 80 Olympic pools
- poured 14,800 cubic metres of concrete
- completed 1,262 piles and 472 micro-piles
- installed 76 massive concrete beams
- trains running in the new 1.3km rail trench!
In the past week, our team completed works on the capping beams. The station’s eastern and western concourses are also coming together, with the roof canopy installation complete in the east and further work happening on our station platforms.
