Union Road open space is nearing completion and will be ready in time for Union Picnic on Sunday 12 November from 11am-2pm!
As part of the removal of 2 dangerous and congested level crossings in Mont Albert and Surrey Hills, there are 4 new and upgraded open spaces around Union Station.
Located on decking over the rail trench, Union Road open space will welcome visitors to a civic plaza that features a community square with tiered seating.
Accessibility has been front of mind, where a toilet and Changing Places facility, will open before the end of the year.
With a new bus waiting area and seating, as well as a terrace garden and climbable sculpture for children, there is plenty to enjoy.
