The Camms Road Level Crossing Removal Project team has celebrated the completion of the project with a free community event.
The event marked the completion of major works after we opened 400 car parks at Cranbourne Station, including more accessible spaces, new pedestrian connections, improved CCTV and lighting, and 210 new bicycle parking spaces.
This followed the removal of the dangerous and congested Camms Road level crossing in November 2023, with the new road bridge making journeys safer and less congested for the 12,000 vehicles that passed through the crossing each day.
As part of our project, we also connected the final part of the Cranbourne Line Shared Use Path (SUP) between Camms Road and Cranbourne Station. This extends to 4.25km’s of existing pedestrian and cycling paths between Lynbrook, Merinda Park and Cranbourne stations, which was built as part of the Cranbourne Line Upgrade (CLU)
With hundreds of people in attendance, the event had something for everyone, with plenty of fun activities and entertainment for kids and free food and coffee.
We thank locals for their patience throughout the project.
