
Final designs for the new road bridge that will remove the dangerous and congested level crossing at Station Street, Beaconsfield are now available.
Incorporating feedback received from community consultation in 2023, the updated designs maintain Beaconsfield’s village atmosphere and reflect the community’s desire for easy pedestrian and vehicle access around the new road bridge, while blending in with the natural surroundings of the suburb.
Building a road bridge allows us to get rid of the level crossing sooner and improves connections to the Beaconsfield Station precinct.
The road bridge will take cars over the rail line, improving safety, and bringing the Pakenham Line one step closer to being level crossing free in 2025.
24/7 works will take place until late February as we continue to work south of the rail corridor to prepare the area for major piling works later this year.
The boom gates at Station Street, Beaconsfield will be gone for good and the new road bridge open in 2025.
