Friday Frenzy winners in Edithvale Chelsea and Bonbeach

After getting behind our Edithvale, Chelsea and Bonbeach Go Local shopping campaign, Craig – a Bonbeach resident – became one of the 7 lucky winners so far in our fortnightly Friday Frenzy prize draw.

The father of 2 spent his $100 voucher at wood-fired pizza and Australian craft liquor boutique, Bo Gurks at Edithvale.

There’s only one chance left to enter the Friday Frenzy draw, with the competition ending on Saturday 27 November.

Craig is looking forward to the removal of the 5 dangerous and congested level crossings in Edithvale, Chelsea and Bonbeach – including Melbourne’s 50th level crossing removal – and the opening of 3 new stations, targeted to happen on Monday 22 November.

‘I was seriously injured at the Swanpool Avenue level crossing 3 years ago and so I am very pleased to see it's being removed,’ Craig said.

‘On a hot summer's day, the beaches here are very popular and the level crossing removal works are going to make the traffic flow easier which will help locals access the shops.’

Meanwhile, Bo Gurks owner Jarred realised a 20-year dream to open a bar when he launched his shop 2 years ago.

Bo Gurks is located across from the new Edithvale Station and he thinks the level crossing removal works have given the suburb a 'desperately needed' facelift.

‘I’m hoping the new station is just the start of the facelift because Edithvale is a beautiful community, and it’s a beautiful beach down here,’ Jarred said.

A huge shout out to residents and traders for your patience during our works.

We’ll remain in the area into 2022 adding the finishing touches including landscaping and walking and bike paths.
