Last week, the project team at Glenroy, along with their families and friends partnered with local volunteer group Clean Up Glenroy for Clean Up Australia Day.
Armed with gloves and bags and decked out in high-vis and sturdy shoes, the team braved the drizzly conditions and got stuck in.
Almost 2 hours later, the sum tally of their great work was 21 bags full of general rubbish, a car tyre, a suitcase, drawers and two lawn mowers for good measure!
The level crossing at Glenroy Road, Glenroy is being removed by lowering the rail line under the road.
As well as removing the level crossing, the project will also deliver a brand-new Glenroy Station and station precinct including improved local connections, dedicated shared use and pedestrian paths and new landscaping.
Trains will be running in the rail trench to the new station and Glenroy Road will be level crossing free in early May 2022.
