Little builders takeover in Beaconsfield

Back to Newsfeed

Locals had the chance to learn more about real-life construction when our Brunt Road and Station Street, Beaconsfield teams hosted 12 community engagement sessions across 2 days at Beaconsfield Neighbourhood Centre.

More than 120 residents - big and small – took the opportunity to chat with project team members and visit interactive stations to learn more about how to build a road bridge, while the kids got a chance to take a turn on the ever-popular mini digger and crane.

The sessions were met with lots of positive feedback, helping to build awareness of the level crossing removals in Beaconsfield and Brunt Road’s temporary closure in April.

Crews are currently working 24/7 until late April to finish building the new Brunt Road bridge that will separate cars and trains for good, and feature new pedestrian and shared used paths on either side of the rail line to connect the community to existing pedestrian links in the area. Read more here.

Throughout April, works will also continue at Station Street, Beaconsfield to build the foundations of the new road bridge. Read more here.

With the Brunt Road and Station Street, Beaconsfield level crossings gone, the Pakenham Line will be one step closer to being level crossing-free by 2025.
