Locked bike storage is now available at more train stations along the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines, providing another incentive for people to ride the Djerring Trail.
Ground-level Parkiteer cages at Carnegie, Murrumbeena, Hughesdale and Clayton are now fully operational and will require an access card to gain entry, providing a safe and secure place for cyclists taking advantage of the 17km shared use path between Caulfield and Yarraman.
Nine of the 11 stations along the Djerring Trail will have Parkiteer cages once the pre-existing bike storage at Noble Park is reinstated later this year.
The activation of these Parkiteer cages follows the opening of the five new elevated stations and removal of nine level crossings last year.
There are now more than 110 Parkiteer cages at stations across the Victorian rail network, which are free to users after paying a $50 fully refundable bond for the access card.
Visit the Parkiteer website for more information on the Parkiteer system and to register as a user.
