A brand new Noble Park Station is being built as part of the $1.6 billion transformation of the Cranbourne-Pakenham Line.
The new station will include a number of improvements, including the relocation of the power substation to the west of the station car park to near the corner of Thomas Street and Douglas Street, which will create a new space for people to meet and wait for the train, as well as improve access to the Douglas Street shops from Mons Parade.
The new area will be fully landscaped, with bright lighting and CCTV cameras to keep passengers safe.
The canopies on the station will also be lowered by nearly 2m to provide better shelter for passengers.
Drop-off zones, bicycle cages, and bus and taxi bays will be relocated when the new station is built, to make it quicker and easier to get to the station and catch the train.
Noble Park is one of 5 stations that will be completely rebuilt as part of the Caulfield to Dandenong Project, which is removing 9 of Victoria's worst level crossings, upgrading signalling and creating 22.5 hectares of new parks, paths and open space in Melbourne's south east.
Construction on the project has already begun and is expected to be complete by late 2018.
Locals have an opportunity to put forward ideas for how the space under the rail line should be used, including areas near Ross Reserve and Chandler Road.
