Piecing together Union Station

Back to Newsfeed

We are working 24/7 to remove 2 dangerous and congested level crossings at Union Road, Surrey Hills and Mont Albert Road, Mont Albert, and open the new Union Station in late May.

In the past week there has been significant change, with the station concourses prepared for our next big delivery – the Union Station buildings.

Arriving in 6 pieces, the modular station buildings are pre-made and delivered to site before they are lifted into place via cranes, a process that saves valuable time.

By the end of the project, we will have installed 2390 square metres of station buildings and platforms, which is equivalent to about 36 train carriages!

Outside our project site, we’ve been meeting many four-legged friends in the local area – from Maxi to Freddie and many more! We’ve heard some furry friends have been extra excited to see one member of our construction team, Bruce, who’s known to generously have dog treats on hand.
