Union Station southern car park opening soon

Back to Newsfeed

We've removed the dangerous and congested level crossings at Union Road, Surrey Hills and Mont Albert Road, Mont Albert.

With these main roads open, and more trains stopping more often at the brand-new Union Station, commuters will soon be able to park in a new station car park.

Opening on Monday 26 June, the new Union Station southern car park features 140 car spaces and 8 accessible car spaces. With improved safety features including lighting and CCTV, the new car park offers commuters more options to get to Union Station.

The car park will be accessible via Windsor Crescent. An additional entrance will open later in the year, as well as more parking north of the station as part of finishing works around the new station precinct. When complete, there will be a total of 290 car spaces available for commuters.

Free alternative weekday parking remains available in Box Hill at Ace Parking.

The new Union Station opened on Monday 22 May, with trains running on the Belgrave and Lilydale lines through the 1.3km rail trench beneath Union and Mont Albert roads.
