Work is now ramping up on the new train stabling facility north of Wyndham Vale Station.
Since major works started in December last year, we are more than half way through removing 85,000 cubic metres of rock and clay, to level the stabling yard site and create room for a third track into the new train stabling facility.
Activity over the last few months has also included site establishment, construction of internal access roads and preparatory works, including the identification of existing utility services.
In coming months, we will:
- construct the third track
- install the connections between the mainline and the third track
- commence construction of track within the train storage yard.
This new facility is essential to meet interpeak stabling needs for V/Line trains operating on the regional rail network, while also ensuring there is capacity to house additional trains in the future.
