Fed Square Town Hall Station entrance now open

Back to Newsfeed

You can now access Town Hall Station using the entrance at Fed Square.

Fed Square is the last entrance to open across all 5 Metro Tunnel stations and is one of 3 main entrances passengers can use to enter or exit Town Hall Station. Other entrances include Collins Street and Swanston Street (which incorporates an underground pedestrian connection to Flinders Street Station).

The Fed Square entrance, located at the north-west corner of the square, will feature a light-filled canopy which complements the contemporary architecture of the vibrant open space. It will include escalators and lifts and a number of accessibility features such as Tactile Ground Surface Indicators, braille and tactile signs, and more.

The entrance will provide a new way to access Fed Square’s cultural events, bars and restaurants, as well as ACMI, Southbank, the Arts Centre, MCG and Melbourne and Olympic Park and St Paul’s Cathedral.

A vibrant 45-metre-long artwork named ‘Barerarerungar’ by First Nations artist Maree Clarke will greet passengers as they descend into the station.
