Digging of the western section of the Metro Tunnel between Kensington and the CBD is now complete, after tunnel boring machine (TBM) Meg broke through at State Library Station.
TBM Meg's arrival came 2 days after TBM Joan relaunched from State Library Station to begin its final leg towards Town Hall Station. TBM Meg will soon be transferred through the station box and begin digging in parallel to Joan.
Digging of the project's twin 9km tunnels is now almost 3-quarters complete, with TBMs Millie and Alice also on their way towards Town Hall Station from the east.
Metro Tunnel
