In February this year, the Minister for Planning declared the North East Link as 'public works', meaning that an independent Environment Effects Statement (EES) was required. The EES process is managed by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning on behalf of the Minister.
The department has now released the draft scoping requirements for North East Link's EES. This sets out everything to be investigated as part of the project's EES process, which is the most rigorous and transparent planning process available in Victoria. The draft requirements are open for public comments until 12 June, 2018.
