The public hearing for the North East Link Environment Effects Statement (EES) has hit the halfway mark, and is set to finish in mid-September.
Hundreds of people have already attended the hearing at the Veneto Club in Bulleen since it started in July, and we encourage anyone who is interested to come along. Daily recordings are also available on the Engage Victoria website.
We’re running free shuttles to and from the hearing at Surrey Hills and Heidelberg train stations.

What happens next?
Once the Hearing closes, the Independent Advisory Committee will consider the information provided in the EES, the Works Approval Application, draft Planning Scheme Amendment and public submissions. They will then make recommendations to the Minister for Planning within 30 business days of the Public Hearing finishing.
The Minister for Planning will then make an assessment of the project’s environmental effects.
A decision on planning approvals is expected in late 2019, with works starting in 2020.
