The first community survey report for North East Link has been released, summarising over 7,400 people’s views on current transport challenges and opportunities in Melbourne’s north-east.
Open from May to July 2017, the survey asked about how people travel around and through the north-east, what they value about their local neighbourhoods and their views on improving transport infrastructure.
Key findings include identifying top reasons people feel their trips take longer than they want, how long it takes to get to work, how people travel and sentiments towards trucks on residential roads.
Feedback from the survey is helping the North East Link Authority with its early work to identify what transport problems North East Link needs to help solve and what we should help protect in Melbourne’s north-east.
From August to September 2017, community members were invited to come talk about the project at 12 information sessions and on an online engagement hub. A community engagement report with results from this consultation will be published by the end of the year.
