Belle Vue Primary School students care for trees at home

Back to Newsfeed

Like most Victorian students, Belle Vue Primary School kids spent Term 3 learning from home – but that didn’t stop their sustainability group from getting their hands dirty!

We sent 19 students a native tree from Ecodynamics nursery with a pack of supplies to care for their tree at home, ready for planting at the school later this Spring.

The students will plant their trees alongside more than 200 already planted at Belle Vue Primary School earlier this year, helping to create a dense screen along the north-west edge of the school’s playing fields.

The planting includes an extra 2000 shrubs and grasses to help create a healthier understory for the school’s existing trees.

The trees being planted at Belle Vue Primary School are among the first of more than 30,000 to be planted in local areas for North East Link.

Ecodynamics nursery is a social enterprise that invests 50% of profits back into community greening initiatives.
