Serving up Victoria's newest tennis centre

Glen Waverley will soon be home to a new 18 court tennis facility thanks to a $21 million investment from North East Link in Victoria’s newest tennis precinct.

The 18-court tennis centre will include a new multi-sport pavilion, practice facilities and upgrades to the car park and pedestrian paths.

The tennis centre will be delivered by Monash City Council and will include community-wide benefits with meeting and function facilities, internal and external road upgrades to support increased usage, and expanded precinct parking.

This significant investment is on top of North East Link’s initial $68 million local sports upgrades program, which includes six brand-new pavilions, and major upgrades at 19 sports grounds to support football, cricket and soccer in the northern and eastern suburbs.

The new tennis centre is expected to open in early 2024, with local tennis clubs moving in soon after.

The new tennis centre will replace the existing tennis centre in Boroondara, which is located on land needed for a crucial interchange to connect the North East Link to the Eastern Freeway.
