Better train stations are one step closer for two of Victoria’s fastest growing communities, with construction now underway on upgrades at Donnybrook and Wallan stations.

Crews have this week begun to install safety fencing and construction site offices at the stations ahead of major works.

Donnybrook Station will feature a new car park with 150 extra spaces as well as better pedestrian access to improve passenger safety and accessibility.

There will be modifications to Springs Road to deliver better access for buses and cars, as well as improved security with CCTV on the platforms and in the car parks.

The upgrades at Wallan Station will improve passenger amenities, with an extension to the waiting room and new bathrooms, as well as platform shelters, additional bus bays, bicycle facilities and added CCTV and lighting to boost security.

The city-bound platforms at both stations will be extended, enabling passengers to use all train doors to board and disembark, reducing the amount of time trains will need to stop.
