Applications now open – West Gate Neighbourhood Fund grants

Back to Newsfeed

Applications are now open for the latest round of the West Gate Neighbourhood Fund grants, which will help bring people together and support Melbourne’s inner west while the West Gate Tunnel Project is being built.

We are looking for projects that bring people together to celebrate heritage, history or diversity, focus on arts and culture.

We are also seeking projects that promote participation in sport and recreation, emphasise learning and development, or enable greater involvement of community members.

Applications are also sought for infrastructure improvement on community spaces that are ready to kick off and will provide a lasting legacy for the community.

Funding is available for projects small and large – there are grants of up to $5,000 for equipment, up to $10,000 for one off projects and up to $20,000 for festivals or events. There are also grants of up to $100,000 for infrastructure or open space improvements that enhance quality, usability and accessibility of local environments, community centres or sport and recreation facilities.

Incorporated non-for-profit groups that are based, or operate, within the Hobsons Bay and Maribyrnong council areas are encouraged to apply for this latest round of funding.

All projects need to be completed by September 2025.

The Fund has so far invested more than $9.5 million to support more than 200 community projects.

In the latest round announced in May this year, some of these projects include helping Yarraville Seddon Eagles Football Club to upgrade its home ground to make the club more welcoming and enjoyable for visitors, and the Williamstown Literary Festival to support its children’s program, offering free workshops to promote a love for reading and writing.
