The first straddle carrier in Australia has finished up on the Level Crossing Removal Project.

Thanks to this innovative piece of equipment, trains were able to continue running while construction took place between Caulfield and Dandenong.

Since February last year, the giant carrier has travelled more than 260 kilometres back and forth along the rail line. The machine lifted 174 bridge spans in total, some weighing up to 420 tonnes.
