Hundreds of workers will work around the clock this winter to upgrade power and signalling on Melbourne’s train network, and prepare for the landmark Metro Tunnel project. Works also continue to remove level crossings and build new stations in Carrum and Reservoir.

Buses will replace trains at various times on the Cranbourne, Pakenham, Frankston, Sandringham, Mernda, Traralgon, Bairnsdale and Ballarat lines.

During this time, Gippsland passengers who are travelling via replacement coaches will receive free travel.
