A new train stabling yard in Wyndham Vale will boost capacity on the regional rail network.

The facility north of Wyndham Vale Station will replace the current one located at E-Gate near Footscray.

Wyndham will receive more services as the new facility will be able to house up to six V/Line ‘VLocity’ trains and allow trains to be refuelled.

Along with the stabling yard, there will be a bypass track connected to the Geelong line so that trains can access the facility without holding up passenger services.

The Wyndham Vale stabling facility is being delivered by the Level Crossing Removal Authority.

The project is expected to begin later this year and will be completed by early 2020.
