4 kms of Barwon Heads Road between Settlement Road and Reserve Road will be duplicated, and investigating the potential for duplicating a further 6 kms from Reserve Road to Lower Duneed Road
Overview
Two projects have now been completed to improve road safety in Bacchus Marsh.
The Halletts Way Interchange Project and the Gisborne Road / Holts Lane Intersection Upgrade were completed in September 2018.
The Halletts Way Interchange Project included:
- New entry and exit ramps at Halletts Way
- A new, separate bridge for walking and cycling over the Western Freeway.
The Gisborne Road / Holts Lane Intersection Upgrade included:
- new lanes on Gisborne Road at the intersection of Holts Lane
- a dedicated lane for southbound traffic to access the Western Freeway
- widening existing footpaths
- a new traffic island on Holts Lane
- a new pedestrian link in the north-western corner of the intersection.
The $15.2 million project was jointly funded by the Australian and Victorian governments.
