We’re relocating critical utility services in Tullamarine to make space for Melbourne Airport Rail.
We will work in two stages to minimise road disruption, digging trenches along each side of Tullamarine Park Road to relocate utility services out of the way of the future elevated tracks that will carry airport trains.
- Establishing a site compound at 14 Snyder Court, Tullamarine
- Installing fencing to create safe work areas
- Digging trenches along Tullamarine Park Road and across Beverage Drive for the relocation of underground services
- Digging trenches across Snyder Court at night for the relocation of underground services
- Removing trees and vegetation from works areas

Anderson Road shared user path closure and detour (PDF, 318.0 KB)
We’re building two new rail bridges and a new shared path over Anderson Road. To facilitate these works:
- The southern pedestrian and cycling path over Anderson Road will be closed from Wednesday 12 April until 2025. A pedestrian and cyclist detour will be in place during this time
- Light poles will be removed from the site area and the southern side of the shared use path
- Non-destructive digging (NDD) will be completed to locate underground services in the area
- A small construction site will be established
- We'll build a large concrete slab to protect underground services
- Trees and vegetation will be removed on both sides of Anderson Road. Where possible, we will make every effort to protect native vegetation
- Works include the use of excavators, a scissor lift, elevated work platform, wood chipper, NDD truck, concrete truck, workers with hand tools and other construction machinery.

Tottenham Station car park extension open (PDF, 117.4 KB)
We’ve just completed construction of 300 additional car spaces north of Tottenham Station on Rupert Street.
Opening on Friday, 31 March 2023, the temporary car park provides alternative parking for commuters while car spaces at Sunshine and Albion stations are closed for Melbourne Airport Rail works.
The temporary car park on Rupert Street will operate from 31 March until 2025.

- Earth works using crushed rock, excavators, and compaction rollers to make the ground ready to support heavy construction equipment
