Overview
We’re upgrading the intersection at Burwood Highway, McMahons Road and Clyde Street to reduce the risk of crashes and keep pedestrians safe.
We're currently undertaking important design and planning work to ensure the intersection upgrade delivers the best outcome for the local community and road users.
As part of our planning, we’re investigating options to:
- install traffic lights to improve safety and reduce travel times
- install signalised pedestrian crossings to improve safety by providing a safe passage across Burwood Highway
- boost traffic capacity and accommodate population growth in the area.
Timelines and construction milestones for the intersection upgrade will be determined through our planning work.
Community feedback
From 3 October until 23 October 2022, we sought community and business feedback on the upgrade via online surveys. Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete a survey.
Your feedback has helped us understand how people are currently using the intersection as well as views on access, efficiency, safety and what’s important in the local area.
Feedback is being considered in our planning and will help shape the development of design options. For more information on what we heard, read the January 2023 community update (PDF, 468.4 KB).
Next steps
Feedback from the community and local businesses is being used to inform our planning and shape the development of the intersection upgrade.
Timelines and construction milestones for the intersection upgrade will be determined through our planning work.
