Overview
We’ve undertaken planning for a potential upgrade to the Werribee Main Road and Princes Freeway Interchange in Werribee.
As part of our planning, we’ve investigated solutions to reduce congestion, improve safety and travel times, and increase connectivity. Potential upgrades considered included improvements to:
- intersections
- entry and exit ramps to the Princes Freeway
- walking and cycling infrastructure.
Status
Planning work included traffic modelling, social studies and environmental investigations. This helped understand environmental and social impacts, develop design options, and confirm scope and costs of different options.
We’ve completed our development work and a business case has been completed. The business case is a comprehensive document that provides a detailed examination of the potential upgrade to help inform government decision-making.
What we heard
From 16 March to 4 April 2022, we asked for community and business feedback on a potential upgrade to the Werribee Main Road – Princes Freeway Interchange via Engage Victoria. Thank you to everyone who took the time to contribute.
Feedback was considered in our planning and has helped us understand how people currently use the interchange, as well as their thoughts on access, efficiency, safety and potential improvements to the interchange that we should consider.
