As part of the upgrade we also landscaped areas, installed feature lighting and painted the bridge.

The bridge design draws on inspiration from Melbourne's surrounding landmarks and links the city to our sport and entertainment precincts.

In June 2019, the Swan Street Bridge upgrade won an urban design commendation at the Victorian Architecture Awards. The awards program recognises the highest standards of architecture and design.
