The new Metro Tunnel stations will be among the most accessible on our network.
Station features
Accessibility was at the forefront of design for the new Metro Tunnel stations. Passengers with wheelchairs can board at the first carriage, where Metro Trains staff will be available to assist if required.
All 5 Metro Tunnel stations include:
escalators and lifts
customer service counters and Customer Help Points
tactile ground surface indicators
braille and tactile signs
audible announcements and hearing loops
improved Passenger Information Displays
accessible toilets, ambulant cubicles and Changing Places (adult change rooms)
Accessible trains
Only High Capacity Metro Trains will run through the Metro Tunnel. These trains have:
improved passenger Information displays
audible announcements
hearing loops
accessible seats.
Passengers in wheelchairs travelling to stations outside the Metro Tunnel are advised to board at the front of the train. This will allow drivers to assist if needed at other stations.
