Freedom of Information Requests
The Victorian Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) gives you the right to apply for access to documents held by Victorian Government departments and agencies, including the Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA).
Under the FOI Act, you can also ask SRLA to correct or amend information it holds about you where it is inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or misleading.
Before you make a request
You are encouraged to check whether the information or document you seek is available on our website or listed in our FOI Part II Information Statement which SRLA may be able to provide you with outside of the FOI Act.
Where you cannot find the information or document you are seeking, we encourage you to call our contact centre on 1800 105 105 or email FOI@srla.vic.gov.au to ask if the information or document you are seeking is available or can be provided to you.
In certain instances, we will be able to provide you with the information you are seeking without requiring you to make a formal request for access.
How to request documents from SRLA
To lodge a valid FOI request, you must provide SRLA with:
- a written request clearly identifying which documents you seek access to
- evidence that you have paid the application fee of $30.60 (as of 1 July 2022) via the online FOI portal or request that the application fee be waived by providing evidence of financial hardship (such as a copy of your health care card).
You will need a credit card to make payment on the FOI portal. Select the 'Suburban Rail Loop Authority' as the agency or organisation you wish to seek documents from.
If you are seeking access to documents containing personal affairs information (Document affecting personal privacy) held by SRLA about yourself or someone else, please also provide:
- photo ID (if you are seeking access to documents containing information about you)
- if you are seeking access to documents containing information about someone else, a signed authority from that person permitting you to receive documents containing their personal affairs information.
