This Freedom of Information (FOI) Part II Statement provides a snapshot of the types of documents held by the Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA) and how to locate them, as well as an overview of the functions of the organisation.

Information Statements

Statement 1: Organisation and Functions

On 1 December 2021, SRLA established as a body corporate under the Suburban Rail Loop Act 2021 (Vic). SRLA is responsible for the planning, development, delivery and management of the Suburban Rail Loop Project.

The Chief Executive Officer has been appointed by the SRLA Board, and in that capacity is responsible for the managing the affairs of SRLA in accordance with the general policies and strategic direction determined by the SRLA Board.

Statement 2: Categories of documents

SRLA creates and manages a large number of documents in the course of its work. SRLA uses an Electronic Document and Records Management System to classify, store, access and manage a broad range of electronic and hard copy records.

The types of documents held by SRLA include but are not limited to:

  • briefs and reports
  • contracts and agreements
  • maps, plans and drawings
  • registers
  • correspondence
  • meeting records
  • rules, policies, procedures and standards
  • multimedia including photographs, images and videos
  • financial records.

This list is a representation of information that is held by SRLA and may not be an exhaustive list.

Statement 3: Freedom of Information arrangements

Under the FOI Act, members of the public have the right to request access to documents and information held by SRLA about their personal affairs and the activities of SRLA.

An FOI request needs to be made in writing to the agency that holds the documents being requested:

Statement 4: Publications

SRLA produces a range of publications which can be found here on our website’s publications page and the SRLA Digital Environmental Effects Statement (EES).

Please read through these first as they may provide you the information you require, or may help to focus any request for information. Also note, due to the dynamic nature of the Suburban Rail Loop Project, these publications are regularly added to or updated.

Statement 5: Policies and related documents

SRLA has internal policies, frameworks, procedures, processes and guidelines which operate within a whole-of-government framework.

Further policies, frameworks, procedures, processes and guidelines may be developed and implemented from time to time as SRLA evolves.

Statement 6: Governance and reporting

SRLA produces reports as required under the regulatory requirements.

We will continue to produce a wide range of reports as the Suburban Rail Loop Project progresses, some of which may be available to the public and will be released here on our website.
