Recycled plastic noise wall knowledge share – learnings from North East Link
The North East Link Project has been advancing innovative approaches to the design and manufacture of recycled plastic noise walls along the Eastern Freeway Upgrades. Through close collaboration between designers, manufacturers and project partners, the project has explored how recycled materials can be used to deliver infrastructure outcomes that are functional, durable and visually appealing.
At this knowledge share, urban designers from the North East Link South Package will showcase the development of the recycled plastic noise walls, highlighting how recycled plastic can be both beautiful and sustainable in major infrastructure projects. The session will share key learnings, challenges and insights from the design journey, offering practical knowledge and approaches that can be applied by other projects looking to increase their use of recycled materials.
