Working with industry
ecologiQ facilitates market development, education, and engagement initiatives that will increase the demand for, and utilisation of recycled and reused materials in Victorian major infrastructure projects.
Initiatives include:
- Platforming suppliers of recycled, reused and circular materials,
- Identifying opportunities and facilitating introductions with project teams,
- Support for supply chain to be ‘project ready’, and
- Removing barriers to adoption.
ecologiQ has a range of initiatives and events to support knowledge sharing, including Lunch & Learns, Innovation Showcases, Mythbusters, and sessions recorded as part of the Greener Infrastructure Conferences and Greener Infrastructure Week. To view the recordings, visit the ecologiQ YouTube Channel.
Innovation
ecologiQ is working with industry partners to further the research, development and validation of innovation applications and Victorian end markets for recycled and reused materials.
We provide the scaffolding for suppliers to pursue commercialisation pathways and get emerging recycled products from paper into transport projects.
ecologiQ’s innovation agenda also involves developing new standards and specifications and building industry capability for the use of priority materials in new applications, such as
- recycled plastic products in noise walls
- composite sleepers
- drainage pipes
- asphalt and crumb rubber on heavily trafficked roads.
We’ll also focus on recycled organics for landscaping, ballast reuse, concrete innovation, textiles, crushed glass fines and recycled materials in carparks, shared use paths and permeable pavements.
