Track Work: Music from the Underground

Metro Tunnel Creative Program and RISING are excited to present Track Work – Music From the Underground, transforming the yet-to be opened Anzac Station transform for with live music performances from Briggs, BARKAA, Birdz and Jayteehazard.

Travel 20-metres below the streets of St Kilda Road, for a gig running across five hours unlike any other kind, and never to be repeated. Curated by Bad Apples Music, the event is celebrating the voices and talent of First Nations artists including Briggs, BARKKA, Birdz and Sensible J for live sets, DJs and MCs.

Audiences will also have the opportunity to view permanent artworks by Fiona Hall, which celebrates military service through the story of two Victorian-bred carrier pigeons, along with images of plant species with links to Australia's military history and Raafat Ishak's Future Wall Painting, which celebrates the architectural and cultural landmarks of the St Kilda Road Precinct, while aiming to make the daily commute a moment of reflection and connection.

Also available to view will be  Maree Clarke’s Tracks, a permanent line-wide artwork featured at all five stations. The artwork comprises large scale floor mosaics created from coloured granite that showcases native fauna found across the traditional lands and waters of the 5 Kulin Nations clans.
