31 March 2026

We’re upgrading Boronia Station and building a new landscaped plaza on Dorset Road to deliver a modern and accessible precinct for the community.

Throughout April, we’ll:

  • continue works on the new plaza, including clearing space, drainage works and installing retaining walls
  • continue building the foundations of the new facilities building
  • begin work on the new protective service officer building
  • install steel for the walls and roof of the new buildings, with prefabricated walls to be lifted in by crane
  • remove canopies and bar fencing around the buildings.

Our usual working hours are Monday to Saturday 7am to 7pm. We’ll make every effort to complete these works on schedule, however dates are subject to change. We will be in touch with directly impacted residents and traders.

Night works

From Monday 27 April to Friday 1 May, and Monday 4 to Saturday 9 May, we’ll work through the night – from 7pm to 7am – to safely remove canopies and fencing and lift in steel beams and prefabricated walls for the new station facilities building.

What to expect

You may notice:

  • an increase in construction activity, machinery, vehicles and workers
  • an increase in noise, dust and vibration near works areas. Our team will have controls in place to monitor and reduce these impacts
  • reduced speed limits and traffic management in place around our works: please plan ahead in case of delays
  • short pedestrian and cyclist detours around works areas.

There may be utility works around the station. Utility companies are responsible for notifying customers of any supply interruptions. Please contact your utility provider if you have any questions.

Station closure

From 11.30pm, Friday 8 May until spring 2026, Boronia Station will be closed. Trains will bypass Boronia, with shuttle buses to Bayswater and Ferntree Gully stations leaving from the station carpark north of Chandler Road.
