18 June 2026
We’re upgrading Boronia Station and building a new landscaped plaza on Dorset Road to deliver a modern and accessible precinct for the community.
What we’re doing
Throughout July, we’ll:
- Continue installing structural steel, external cladding, brick work and roofing on the new buildings.
- Begin paving the new plaza, station concourse, platform and forecourt areas.
- Install the concrete foundations of the new platform canopies.
- Remove the existing footpath through the pocket park and begin installing underground services, light poles and new footpaths.
- Remove 2 trees on Erica Avenue to enable drainage and pavement works.
- Begin relocation of the Dorset Road pedestrian crossing and install new kerbs and underground services.
- Paint and complete minor works around the station precinct and on Erica Avenue.
- Replace bar fencing and begin painting around the station precinct.
24-hour works in July and August
Crews will work around the clock from Friday 3 to Monday 6 July and Monday 27 July to Tuesday 4 August to:
- Clean and paint the trench walls around the station platform.
- Install the roofs on the new platform canopies and the power and lighting for them.
- Remove the barriers from the edge of the platform, complete paving and install tactile signage.
- Install ground level screens, replacing the old bar fencing.
During this period, you may notice increased truck movements, noise and vibration during the day and night. We’ll also move vehicles onto the train line at the end of Alfred Street.
Until mid-August we’ll work 24/7 at times around the station precinct. We’ll be in touch with directly impacted residents in advance.
What to expect
You may notice:
- An increase in noise, dust and vibration near works areas. Our team will have controls in place to monitor and reduce these impacts.
- Reduced speed limits and traffic management in place around our works.
- Short intermittent pedestrian and cyclist detours around works areas – please follow signage.
At times we may also need to close a small number of station parking spaces closed for works for short periods of time.
There may be utility works around the station and on Erica Avenue. Utility companies are responsible for notifying the community about any impacts. Please contact your utility provider if you have any questions.
Changes to the way you travel
Additional temporary lane, footpath and road closures may be required at times throughout the works. Please follow signage and detours. Traffic management will be in place during works to safely guide you through the area. We will update directly impacted residents and traders in advance.
