25 August 2026
We’re upgrading Boronia Station and building a new landscaped plaza on Dorset Road to deliver a modern and accessible precinct for the community.
What we’re doing
Throughout September, we will:
- Continue road works in Lupton Way, installing new kerbs, road, footpaths and lighting.
- Continue paving the new plaza, station concourse and forecourt areas.
- Install new footpaths and landscaping in the pocket park.
- Landscape the new garden beds on Dorset Road and in the new plaza.
- Install structural steel and roofing for the new entrance canopies.
- Complete platform toilet upgrades and minor platform works.
- Paint and put finishing touches on the station precinct.
What to expect
You may notice:
- An increase in noise, dust and vibration near works areas. Our team will have controls in place to monitor and reduce these impacts where possible.
- Reduced speed limits and traffic management around the station precinct.
- Occasional brief pedestrian and cyclist detours around works areas – please follow signage.
- A small number of station and Dorset Road parking spaces closed for works for short periods.
There will be utility works around the station and on Dorset Road. Utility companies are responsible for notifying the community about any impacts. Please contact your utility provider if you have any questions.
24-hour works in September
We will work around the clock until Wednesday 30 September to put finishing touches on the precinct, including painting, landscaping, paving and other minor works.
During this time, you may notice increased truck movements, noise and vibration during the day and night. We’ll also move specialist machinery onto the train line from the end of Alfred Street.
We’ll be in touch with directly impacted residents in advance.
Station access change
From early September to early October, we’ll close the Erica Avenue entrance and ticket office to complete works on the station canopy. The Lupton Way entrance will open, with footpath access from Chander and Dorset roads. Road works will continue in Lupton Way. Buses at bay one in the interchange will relocate to bay two.
Changes to the way you travel
Additional temporary lane, footpath and road closures may be required at times throughout the works. Please follow signage and detours. Traffic management will be in place during works to safely guide you through the area. We will update directly impacted residents and traders in advance.
