Pedestrians

Pedestrian access across the rail corridor at Union Road and Mont Albert Road will be closed most of the time.

Pedestrians will be able to cross the rail corridor at Robinson Road in Surrey Hills and Creswick Lane in Mont Albert, both of which will be closed to vehicles.

There will also be a local shuttle bus to help you get around the local area and access the shops. The shuttle bus runs 24 hours a day 7 days a week, with multiple shuttle vehicles running continuously.

Drivers

Union Road and Mont Albert Road will be closed at the level crossings.

If you usually drive through Mont Albert or Surrey Hills, you will be detoured via Elgar, Whitehorse, Balwyn and Canterbury roads.

Union and Mont Albert roads will remain open on either side of the former level crossings and access to the local shops will be maintained.

Please take care when driving in construction zones and follow the detour signage and any instructions from traffic control staff.

Works are on, shops are open

Local parking is available at Mont Albert Village along Hamilton Street and in off street parking on Hamilton Street.

At Union Road, Surrey Hills, parking is available on Union Road and access to the Coles Local basement car park is available via Union Road with the help of traffic management.

Mont Albert Road and Union Road will re-open in early May.

Rail passengers

Buses will replace trains between Camberwell and Box Hill and at times between Camberwell and Ringwood.

From Friday 17 February until late May, the train replacement bus stops on Windsor Crescent will be temporarily relocated to Canterbury Road for shuttle and train replacement buses between Camberwell and Box Hill stations.

Train replacement bus stops will connect with local shuttle services.

Works will continue until late May.

PTV Route 612

From Saturday 18 February until late May, PTV 612 bus stops at the Union Road, Surrey Hills level crossing will be temporarily relocated to the corners of:

• Mont Albert Road and Union Road
• Canterbury Road and Union Road.

A shuttle bus will operate to and from these locations and Box Hill Station.

Works will continue until late May.

PTV Route 766

From Saturday 18 February until late May, the PTV 766 bus stops on:

• Leopold Crescent will be relocated to Mont Albert Road
• Windsor Crescent will be relocated to Canterbury Road.

A shuttle bus will operate between Canterbury Road and Box Hill Station, via Mont Albert Road.

Passengers can continue to catch their normal PTV 766 service to Burwood and Box Hill stations via the existing bus stops on the corner of Canterbury Road and Union Road.

Works will continue until late May.
