The Bayswater Level Crossing Removal Project was the first project completed under the Level Crossing Removal Program to be certified with a sustainability rating. The project received a ‘Leading’  IS Design Rating with an unprecedented score of 93.5 out of 110, and has set a new industry benchmark in sustainable delivery.

The project established many sustainability initiatives, including:

• project-wide LED lighting
• altered rail track alignment
• use of a dewatering centrifuge to reduce water consumption
• selection and use of high performing sustainable materials.
