We’re getting on with the job of removing the level crossings at Dublin Road, Ringwood East and Bedford Road, Ringwood and building a new Ringwood East Station with 460 upgraded car parking spaces.

These dangerous and congested level crossings will be removed by building rail trenches under the roads, making Ringwood level crossing free in 2025.

With construction starting in early 2023, you can expect to see more activity and vehicles in your local area as we set up our work sites. Access to shops and businesses will be maintained at all times.

Supporting local business and traders during construction

Understanding your business and working with you is important to us. During construction, we will:

  • have dedicated staff to keep you updated on the project and timing of potential impacts
  • help your staff and customers get around by informing you of any detours or access changes
  • establish marketing campaigns to encourage the community to shop locally during construction
  • procure goods and services locally where possible
  • manage traffic and workforce parking to minimise the impact of more workers and truck movements in the local area.

How we can work with you

We know our projects can be disruptive. To support businesses through this, we can work with you to develop marketing initiatives to encourage people to continue to shop for goods and services locally. Examples of successful initiatives include:

  • designing and developing social media campaigns, including content creation and promotion
  • customer loyalty programs with voucher offers
  • encouraging our workers to buy goods and services locally
  • promoting trading precincts on construction fencing and signs
  • providing regular tours of the project site incorporating local businesses
  • celebrating progress through community events.
