There are currently public toilets available at Seaford Station that are owned by Frankston City Council.
As part of the project, we’ll work with Frankston City Council to ensure toilet facilities remain as part of the new elevated Seaford Station.
The community will be able to provide more feedback during concept designs consultation next year. This will include opportunities to help refine key elements of the design such as landscaping, walking and cycling connections and facilities and finishes in the station precinct.
We’ve removed 88 level crossings across Melbourne we have lots of examples of how the local community have shaped our projects.
Currently we are building the new Melton Station and in response to community feedback, we redesigned the station precinct to locate car parking closer to the city-bound platforms for passenger convenience.
We also heard the community found it difficult to get into and out of the station car parks so we’ve redesigned the car park entries and exits to provide more space.
On this project we also heard about importance of community safety, and this has been reflected in the inclusion of enhanced lighting and CCTV and improved sightlines throughout the station precinct.
We know how important the Seaford RSL and Scout Group are to the Seaford community.
We've met with representatives from the RSL and the Scouts to learn more about their facilities and how they operate, and we’re committed to ongoing engagement with them throughout the project.
As we're in the early planning stage of the project, we are still working to determine how we’ll build the rail bridge over Station Street and newly elevated Seaford Station.
Our early design process has determined that no nearby buildings are required to be repurposed or demolished as part of the project.
We'll continue to work closely with the RSL and Scouts during the project development and construction.
As the project is still in the early development stage, we are still working to determine all the facilities that will be part of the new Seaford Station.
We’ve spoken with the business owner of the coffee kiosk at one of our recent station pop-ups.
We look forward to meeting him again soon to learn more about his business operations and will work closely with them to support him throughout the project.
The original Seaford Station buildings will be removed to make way for the new elevated Seaford Station.
We are working to determine if any elements of the original station can be retained and incorporated in the new station, and will take community feedback into consideration.
We’ll share concept designs and ask for community feedback to help refine key elements of the design next year.
To build the new rail bridges and new station, we need to install new rail infrastructure and relocate existing services and utilities in the area. This means some tree and vegetation removal will be required, however we are working to minimise this wherever possible.
As the project is in the early development stage, details regarding impacts to different areas of Seaford are yet to be determined.
We will work closely with environmental and sustainability specialists throughout the project to minimise impacts to local flora and fauna.
A full assessment of all trees in the project area will be undertaken by a qualified arborist to understand potential impacts during construction.
The project will notify the community before any tree or vegetation removal, and we are committed to planting replacement trees and vegetation, with landscaping plans to be developed as the design progresses.
