Major construction is almost complete to remove the dangerous and congested level crossing at Robinsons Road in Deer Park. One final construction blitz will take place in September to finish the new road underpass and get locals moving.

What’s happening

From 9pm Friday 2 September to 5am Monday 12 September, we’ll work around the clock to connect the new road underpass to Robinsons Road.

On Monday 12 September, the new Robinsons Road underpass will open, improving safety and traffic flow and creating better local connections.

We’ll still have some work to do, with the new shared use path and landscaping complete by the end of the year.

Road changes

• Robinsons Road will be closed between Waigaini Avenue and Hatchlands Drive.
• Nexus Street will be closed at Robinsons Road

Access to local businesses will be maintained at all times. Travel times will vary, please allow extra time.

Pedestrian/cyclist changes

• Pedestrian access will be closed across the level crossing from Hatchlands Drive to Quinn Street
• A free shuttle bus will operate daily from 7am to 7pm during the road closure to provide pedestrian and cyclist access. Shuttle bus services are accessible to all community members
• Pick up and drop off bus stops will be located on the corner of
  • Robinsons Road and Hatchlands Drive
  • Robinsons Road, between Quinn Street and Deer Street
