On 28 April 2017, the Minister for Planning designated the Hurstbridge Rail Line Upgrade 2017 Project Area under section 95 of the Major Transport Projects Facilitation Act 2009 (MTPF Act).

The project area is shown in LEGL./16-488 Sheets 1 to 18 (inclusive PDF, 5.0 MB).

The designation of the project area enables the project proponent (the Secretary to the Department of Transport and Planning) to use the project delivery powers under the MTPF Act.
