Yes, we have finished setting up the site establishment in the area that the station will be located. We have established 2 temporary site access roads, located on the south and north sides of the rail line, to ensure we have safe access for our work crews to the project site.
We have set up our temporary site offices, workforce parking and material storage areas in these 2 locations.
All construction areas and temporary roads are fenced off to ensure the safety of the community and our crews.
Yes, major construction has commenced and we’ll keep the community informed about any changes or disruptions to the way you travel, as well as key project milestones.
Yes, there are changes in place at that intersection until the end of construction in 2026.
There is no right turn into or out of Cottesloe Boulevard from or to Leakes Road. Please use an alternative route via Heartlands Boulevard and Eagleridge Promenade (left and right turn access to or from Leakes Road). The left turn into/out of Cottesloe Boulevard from or to Leakes Road will remain in place.
This change is required in order to make way for a safe construction vehicle entry and exit point from Leakes Road into the southern side of the project site. Local residents may notice traffic management and speed reductions on Leakes Road from Heartlands Boulevard to Embleton Avenue, to safety manage all vehicle movements. Please follow the direction of traffic controllers.
In late 2024, we asked for your feedback on what you value about the local area, how you move around the neighbourhood and aspects of the concept designs.
We heard that the community values natural landscapes, such as the local native grass and wetlands, and Davis Creek. We also heard that connectivity to local shops, housing estates and community groups is important, as well as understanding and celebrating the area’s diversity.
The feedback received, along with detailed technical assessments and further design development, has helped inform the final designs for West Tarneit Station.
Thank you to all who submitted feedback and attended an information session. Read our full Community Engagement Report
