As part of the planning for the Calder Park Drive and Holden Road Level Crossing Removal Project, LXRP submitted a referral to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water under the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conversation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).
The referral outlines Matters of National Environmental Significance within sections of the project area and the approach that will be adopted to manage these matters.
The Australian Government has determined that the project is a controlled action and will require assessment and approval under the EPBC Act before certain activities occur.
As part of the assessment process, the project has prepared a Preliminary Documentation report as part of the EPBC approval process.
Pursuant to Section 95A(3) of the EPBC Act, the preliminary documentation was open for public comment for a period of 10 business days from 28 June 2024 to 11 July 2024. No comments were received.
Pursuant to section 95B(4) of the EPBC Act, the final preliminary documentation for the proposed action is available to read for a period of 10 business days from 2 August 2024 to 15 August 2024.
The application was approved on 14 October 2024.
The following documents are published in accordance with the conditions of EPBC 2023/09569:
