31 March 2025
We’re making the Sunbury Line level crossing free in 2025, a year ahead of schedule, removing 8 dangerous and congested level crossings to improve safety, reduce congestion and run more trains, more often.
What we’re doing
In April, we'll continue to:
- construct the shared use path including ramps and stairs to the road bridge
- construct the new road bridge
- install essential services, including drainage and public lighting
- install concrete bridge barriers, road kerb and screening along the new bridge
- prepare for landscaping works to take place from April until late 2025
- remove site buildings from our satellite compound near Nottingham Way.
What to expect
- Traffic management will be in place, including lane closures and reduced speed limits at times.
- Deliveries including large concrete barriers and materials.
- Machinery in the area including cranes and delivery trucks.
- Increased construction noise and light in the area.
- Where appropriate, we’ll be in touch with directly impacted stakeholders ahead of works.
- To safely relocate existing services including public lighting, there will be a pedestrian detour on the corner of Calder Park Drive and Manchester Drive at times until late 2025.
- Access to properties and local businesses will be maintained.
- Our general working hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm and Saturday 7am to 5pm.
Note: The above dates and times may vary if our works are disrupted due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
