Summary of report

The Industry Capability and Inclusion team’s fourth annual Training For The Future report (July 2020 to June 2021) is now available.

This program has worked with industry to address critical skills shortages and improve talent pathways into the rail industry.

Training for the Future has consistently led the way by providing training for the vital infrastructure work being undertaken across Victoria.

The program is a reminder of the power that collaboration can achieve when governments, organisations and industry come together to make a difference.

Some of the highlights in the report over the past year:

  • 535 people matched to form 261 pairs of mentors and mentees in the Women In Transport mentoring program
  • 369 students through the Rail Academy at Newport
  • $230 million to date in total social procurement spending across the alliances
  • 186 people employed in total through the GROW/Transit programs

We look forward to keep working even harder over the next year to to provide more well trained key staff to support Victoria's Big Build.
