We’re removing the level crossing at Maidstone Street, Altona by building a new road bridge over the rail line to improve safety and create better connections.

Major construction is underway. Thank you for your patience as we deliver this important project.

What we’re doing:

In April, we’ll:

  • continue to construct the new road bridge foundations and install the first bridge beams, south of the level crossing
  • carry out site investigations, vegetation removal, clearing and digging along the north-eastern side of Maidstone Street
  • continue to relocate underground power, gas, sewer, water and telecommunication services along Maidstone Street and surrounding roads. We are working closely with service providers who will communicate with you directly if services or access are affected.

Changes to the way you travel
