The below notice refers to the intermittent and temporary closure of roads from time to time to facilitate works on the Maddox Road and Champion Road Level Crossing Removal Project under section 186D(1)(d) of the Major Transport Projects Facilitation Act 2009.

NOTICE OF CLOSURE OF ROADS TO TRAFFIC

Under section 186D of the Major Transport Projects Facilitation Act 2009 (Act), I, Adam Maguire, Executive Director, Delivery, Level Crossing Removal Project, as delegate of the project authority for the Champion and Maddox Roads, Level Crossing Removal Project (Project), determine that, for the purposes of the Project, the following roads and parts of roads shall be closed to traffic:

  • Churchill Street, Williamstown North between the northern end and Macaulay Street;
  • Maddox Road, Williamstown North and Newport, between 65 and 106 Maddox Road;
  • Railway Parade, Newport;
  • Launceston Street, Williamstown North between 22 and 42 Launceston Street;
  • Akuna Drive, Williamstown North; and
  • Champion Road, Williamstown North south-western side between 193 Champion Road and Park Crescent, as more particularly shown shaded green on the attached plans.

The closure of the parts of roads identified on the plans shall commence on 24 February 2025.
